# 23 Things

Learning 2.0 has been a learning adventure, and it has introduced me to the various application offered on the internet. My general internet usage before learning 2.0 was quite conservative, as I didn’t join or sign up to many sites. Learning 2.0 changed this, as part of the program it was necessary to sign up with various websites. While some of the time I felt the work was quite tedious and repetitive, I still enjoyed the experience and learnt many new things. The support from my fellow colleagues, gave me incentive to finish this program. I did find it hard however, trying to complete the program at home with limited assistance. Although in saying that I will probably continue to use several of the sites, especially LibraryThings, Flickr, Blogline and Podcast.

Cheers,
The Incredible Moose

#22 Audiobooks

The convience of audiobooks online has both positive and negative aspects, as it is easily accessible, however, you must have access to the internet. Subscription to audiobooks is essential, although there are a few free audiobooks that can be downloaded.

#21 Podcast

Again something new. As I was unsure what a podcast was I investigated its true meaning. I found a podcast is a digital media file, and can either be in the form of direct download or streaming.

I found two sites of interest that is useful for those interested in podcasting.

# 20 You Tube

Usually i do not use this website, but for this exercise i thought i would take a look. While there are some entertaining clips featured on YouTube, as a whole I think my time can be better spent somewhere else on the internet.

#19 Web 2.0 awards

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions ...
Sometimes the web has too much to choose from. I've been around in circles, and tested many different sites, although I found the majority to be of no use for my requirements.
However, I was glad to see that the "Web awards for 2007" included many sites that I have visits whilst Learning 2.0. The winner 1st place column actually contained many sites which i had enjoyed visiting (and are now bookmarked). These include LibraryThings, Blogline, Rollyo, and Flickr. As for my decision on the best website I choose to remain anonymous.

# 18 Zoho

Working and learning all this new stuff is certainly challenging and I am enjoying the experience.

I can see the advantages of of this program. So many software programs are incompatible or not available from different computers that I use at work and at home.

As far using Zoho writer, it was quite easy, as all the features are similar to word processor and better.

The toolbar has the standard applications that are useful to create a document with various addtions.

#17 Learning 2.0 SandBox wiki

Hooray!!!!
I added my blog to plcmclearning @ PBwiki and i did this all by myself. I've made it to this point

# 16 Wiki

WIKI is another new concept. To put it in plain english it is all about collaboration, community and contribution. There are a lot of interesting possibilities that can involve Wiki : book discussion groups, on-line learning, community guides, etc . I have been already using Wiki through Wikipedia , as it will often have the only information on a particular subject. I find that Wikipedia is user friendly, easily accessible and very easy to navigate.

#15 On Library 2.0 & Web 2.0

I've read presentations on Library 2.0 & Web 2.0. and found them extremely interesting. All of them were very positive about this new way that the libraries are going. I agree with the concept, that we need to keep with the technology or be left behind. We are definitely in a time of transition. The technology is great and can do so many wonderful things , we just have to believe that it is possible, to implement new invention and adopt a new way of thinking.

#14 Technorati

Exercise no 14 took a bit of time as I couldn't get access to the computer. My daughter is writing her thesis. This is another web application that I'm not sure I would use. Probably because I have a very little time to spend on the computer. However, I need to complete this post to keep up to date with my progress . It could be very useful for research purporses.

# 13 Del.icio.us

I've tried everything we've done so far. Some of it I'll use , some of it I won't.
I am not sure about Del.icio.us, I added the shortcut to the toolbar on my home computer. I think i will need more time to used it because I 've been using Favorites as my bookmarking tool since first I started use the computer.

# 12 Rollyo

Hello my fellow bloggers and general Internet explores,

I happy to be half-way through this learning experience. Even though work is quite busy, and the family is constantly nagging, I somehow managed to find a few spare minutes where I was able to create my 'Rollyo' files. After much confusion, this arose from my lack of manual reading. However, when I finally convinced myself that I was unable to do this without reading the instructions, I read them and the process actually was straight forward. Hint: Read the instructions (they're there for a reason).

The areas of interest that i selected to be connected to my Rollyo were travel, health, reference, and education. And who knows perhaps I'll add some more...

# 11 Library Thing

I was doing some investigating on the 'Library Thing' website, and personally I thought it could be quite beneficial. It's well set out with many useful links to searching for books. I come across a few books which I would like to read, and some which I'm currently reading, they have been added to my library.

# 7 Technology

Technology makes life a lot easier, as it can free up your time to enjoy the more pleasurable things in life, such as the theatre and reading. However I also believe that technology is a contributing factor to unnecessary frustration and anger, as not everything works accordingly, or lack of knowledge. Despite this, there are a lot of attributes to the use of technology. I have family & friends living overseas and without the advancement in technology communication with them would be limited and expensive. Now I am able to regularly keep in touch with them through telephone and email.

My brush with the technology

It is true, we come long way using the technology in a very short time.
I remember learning to use the computers or to send the email. Now these tasks are so common in my daily routine.

The Incredible Moose

The Story of The Incredible Moose!

This story can be dated back to pre-historic times, when mooses and mooses alone ruled the world. Now this is a true story, and to those sceptics who refuse to believe I suggest you travel to the ends of the world to see the ancient cave paintings of the mysterious creatures.
